Springs....

Springs....

Spring.
It’s practically arrived.
...I can smell it  in the early morning's air, and it’s traces lie in the budding blossoms on neighborhood trees. Spring's extra  sunlit hours fill our hearts with the anticipation of a sense of "freshness" and "newness" to come. But this spring of 2020 is quite different than any others we've ever experienced,  with  COVID-19 looming over our communities, our nation, and really the entire globe, Spring 2020 requires a different approach.

I believe that this Pandemic serves to show us just how important our homes truly are to our daily well being. Homes tend to possess the power to bring joy and meaningful connection into our world. And at this present moment, we have begun to require our interior spaces to be flexible and to accommodate our homebound state. Most of us have noticed we are spending more time with loved ones,  while participating in leisurely activities such as  playing board games, having movie nights- every night, preparing meals together, or just snuggling on the sofa to catch up on some reading. However, and most  importantly, WE need to ENJOY our spaces regardless of what function it serves.

In the days ahead I predict that most will congregate in the comforts of their living rooms and with all the extra time on our hands, let’s re-organize the center of this living space- OUR Coffee Tables.

Below are my most favorite "5 Designer Tips" on how to style your coffee table and some of my great finds, that are budget friendly. These curated finds will give you a fresh new look this Spring season:

Form a Grid-
When working with an oversized coffee table, knowing where to begin can be half the battle. My tip: tape off sections to form a grid and position objects within those squares. This helps Compartmentalization your styling and makes the entire task less intimidating.

Go Green-
Even for those with a black thumb, the coffee table is the perfect setting to introduce a low-maintenance plant, fresh greenery or flowers from your home's yard. Set the arrangement or plant in the center for an organic, fuss free way to bring your space to life!

Look High and Low-
If all items are at the same eye level, nothing gets noticed.  To create a more eye-catching vignette, vary the heights and scale of your coffee table's decorative objects. My tip: try using books, boxes or risers to create this dimension.

Use a Tray-
A tray serves both a practical and stylish purpose by showcasing your favorite small finds while also making them easily removable, should the surface need to be cleared. A tray is a useful tool for providing structure and symmetry to a freeform table, anchoring key pieces that otherwise feel like they're "floating".

Make it Personal-
Let the objects on your coffee table tell your story,  your passions and memories. A grouping of collected candlesticks from a memorable vacation while antique shopping, had-me-down  figurines or roses snipped from your garden are special ways to give your living room's decor a personal twist.
